Healthy Fats for Anxiety & Depression

Healthy fat for anxiety and depression are essential in our diet, I cannot stress this enough! If we don’t have enough healthy fats in our diet, we will probably suffer from one, or all of the above conclusions in our lifetime.

Most of Americans are consuming fats in their diet, but they are all the wrong ones, that don’t feed anything but obesity, disease and mental health issues. These fats are hidden in those oh so addicting processed junk foods, French fries, processed meats, chips, chocolate, margarine, pastries, cookies, cakes to name a few.

Healthy fats on the other hand, respond to our bodies where we need it most. It feeds the brain, nervous system, hormones, joints, eyes, and muscles tissues. Our brains are made up of water and fat, and an average 25 year old girl who eats 1700 calories a day should be getting at least 58-80 grams of those calories from healthy fat (varies to individual lifestyle needs.)

The fats that are essential to include in your diet are:

  • Coconut Oil (cold pressed, extra virgin)
  • Olive Oil (extra virgin)
  • MCT Oil
  • Avocado
  • Avocado oil
  • Nut Butters (100 percent natural)
  • Coconut Cream (organic)
  • Nuts, Seeds
  • Bone Broth
