Combat Brain Fog with these Powerful Herbs

Combat Brain Fog with Herbs.

The causes of brain fog are vast, it can be caused by an over exhausted mind, cycle thinking, a depressed state, thyroid conditions, menopause, dehydration, chemicals, mold, medications, inadequate sleep, food allergies, etc.

It is always important to understand the root cause in order to properly combat brain fog and put together a self care program for healing. There are herbs I suggest clients incorporate to help see the situation from a clearer and broader perspective and alleviate symptoms.

If you are ready to combat brain fog, Basil must be your new best friend.

Yes that’s right, chewing on the same basil that is so deliciously placed on a Margherita pizza has the ability to take one out of a stuck, heavy emotional place and if someone is suffering from stagnancy of a depressed mind. This stands true with all members of the basil family. Holy basil also named tulsi is a specific basil that is often found dried into a tea or tincture that helps “slay the dragons of the mind.” – Nicholas Culpepper (1600’s herbalist)

In a “combat brain fog”  blend I also test the client for rosemary. The herb of remembrance and low blood circulation to the brain. Specifically for those who have under-active thyroids or feel sluggish, weighted, heavy in the lower extremities, forgetful, loss of memory, or fatigued. Many elderly people can benefit greatly with rosemary tea or sprinkled on all food!

Of course there are many other herbs, but these are the first two herbs I like to begin with because they are usually very accessible and often found in the kitchen cupboard already!

When talking about brain fog, it is always important to get to the root cause and check where the diet may be lacking or contributing to the fog. Be sure to be eating good fats for the brain like olive oil, coconut oil, mct oil, avocados, etc and remove fried foods, sugar, and stimulants. Drink plenty of water and incorporate lifestyle practices to give your brain the break it needs!

You can now book a more in-depth herbal consultation with me. Consultations are via zoom, all you need is a web cam for an in depth tongue assessment, pulse assessment and full intake, for a targeted herbal protocol.
